In Houston Astros News today, they beat the Los Angeles Dodgers five to three in game three of this years World Series. This was Houston’s second ever win in a World Series. Also, this was their first ever win at home in a World Series.
They now lead the Los Angeles Dodgers two games to one. Houston scored four runs in the second inning and never relinquished this lead. I watched this entire game.
While it was not a thriller like game two of this World Series, it did not turn into a blow out. The Los Angeles Dodgers committed two errors in this game. Also, their starting pitcher Yu Darvish only pitched one and two thirds innings.
All four runs were earned against him. Houston’s starting pitcher Lance McCullers Junior lasted five and one thirds inning, giving up three earned runs. Los Angeles Dodgers had to rely on their bullpen against for the second consecutive game.
Their bullpen did NOT give up any runs, because one run scored was not earned by an error. Houston Astros out hit the Dodgers again with twelve hits. Los Angeles could only muster up four hits.
Los Angeles did NOT hit any home runs in this game. Houston had a solo home run in the second inning to begin their scoring. Houston hosts game four tomorrow at Minute Maid Park.
The Houston Astros have won every game at home in these playoffs. Their seven wins at home made them the eighth team in Major League Baseball history to win seven games at home. All previous teams went on to win the World Series.
The Los Angeles Dodgers must win one out of the next two games to stay alive. Because of the two three two format of the World Series, Houston also hosts game five on Sunday.
