Marshall University Division – New Mexico Bowl Win Over CSU Rams

Marshall University Division one football team defeated the Colorado State University Rams 31-28. This game was played December sixteen two thousand seventeen at University Stadium in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This game was quite competitive until the very end.

I was able to watch most of the second half of this Football Bowl Subdivision bowl game. Marshall University Thundering Herd was able to hold off the Colorado State University Rams. Marshall University created a 17 point lead going into the fourth quarter.

Two fourth quarter touchdowns was not enough for Colorado State Universtiy. Marshall University improved to 8-5 on the 2017 college football season with this victory. Meanwhile the Colorado State University Rams dropped to 7-6.

I was glad that this game was competitive and not a proverbial college football bowl game blow out. Colorado State University actually had a chance of taking the lead or tying the game with less than a minute left. Marshall University sacked Colorado State University’s starting quarterback 5 times.

Colorado State University had trouble stopping Marshall University’s rushing game. As a matter of fact Marshall University had two one hundred yard rushers in this game. Also, this team rushed for 239 yards on 33 carries.

Colorado State University rushed for a measly 70 yards on 31 carries in comparison. Colorado State University made up for it a litle bit by passing for 320 yards in comparison to Marshall Unviersity’s 262 yards passing. Marshall University committed two turnovers compared to none for Colorado State University.

Colorado State University was still outgained 501 yards to 390 yards of total offense. Marshall University, whom plays in Conference USA has an 11-2 record lifetime in bowl games. Colorado State University has a 6-11 record in bowl games.

The Colorado State University Rams play in the Mountain West Conference. The difference at least to me in this game, was the pressure that Marshall University was able to apply on Colorado State University’s starting quarterback.

Boise State Idaho – Las Vegas Bowl Win Over Oregon University

The Boise State Idaho University Broncos college football team defeated the Oregon University Ducks 38-28 in the 2017 Las Vegas Bowl. Boise State Broncos scored in each quarter of this game. Also, this is their fourth Las Vegas Bowl game victory.

Oregon University only gained 47 total yards rushing on 28 attempts. This teams starting running back did not play because he is preparing for the National Football League draft. Boise State University lead 24-14 at halftime and never relinquished this lead.

Boise State gained 112 yards rushing and 369 yards passing. Their quarterback threw two touchdown passes and two interceptions. Coincidentally, Oregon Ducks starting quarterback threw for two touchdowns with two interceptions as well.

Boise State Broncos created a 24 point lead in the second half. Oregon University Ducks scored two quick touchdowns later in the second quarter to avoid being blown out. Each team scored 14 points in the second half.

Turnovers were pretty even, as Boise State University committed two interceptions with one fumble. Meanwhile Oregon University committed 2 interceptions with 2 fumbles lost. This college football game was played at Sam Boyd Field in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I was not able to watch this game, but decided to write a sports recap anyways. Boise State University improved to 11-3 while Oregon University fell to 7-6 on the 2017 football year. Oregon University plays in the Pacific 12 conference and Boise State University plays in the Mountain West Conference.

The Boise State Broncos are 3-0 lifetime head to head against the Oregon University Ducks footbal team. This game was close to becoming a proverbial college football bowl game blow out. I was glad to see this was not the case and wondered what the outcome may have been if the Oregon University starting running back would have played.

Oregon Ducks could never get any closer than 10 points in this game.

Georgia State Univeristy – Cure Bowl Win Over Western Kentucky

Georgia State Univeristy Panthers football received their first ever bowl game victory over Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. They outscored Western Kentucky 27-17 in the 2017 Cure Bowl. I guess Georgia State University cured their historical winless bowl game record.

The Panthers improved to 7-5, while the Hilltoppers fell to 6-7. I was not able to watch this game. However, I have decided to write a sports recap for every 2017 bowl game. Georgia State scored in each quarter of this game.

They lead 13-10 at halftime and never relinquished their lead. Georgia State Universtiy Panthers shut down completely Western Kentucky’s running game. Western Kentucky gained negative 2 yards rushing on 21 carries.

Georgia State University gained 143 yards rushing and 276 yards passing. Western Kentucky gained minus 2 yards rushing and 351 yards passing. Western Kentucky Hilltoppers committed three turnovers.

Georgia State University Panthers committed just one turnover. This game was played in Orlando, Florida. This was actually Georgia State University football teams first ever bowl game victory. This Football Bowl Subdivision college football team was founded in 2010.

Georgia State University scored first with a first quarter field goal. Western Kentucky countered with a touchdown, but would be the last time they lead in this game. Georgia State built a 17 point lead that was never threatened by Western Kentucky.

I am glad that this game was not a blowout, as often times occur in college football bowl games. This was the third annual Cure Bowl with Georgia State Unviersity having a 1-1 record. This was the first time Western Kentucky has played in the Cure Bowl.

This Cure Bowl matched teams from Conference USA and the Sun Belt Conference.

Troy University Athletics – New Orleans Bowl Win VS North Texas

Troy University Athletics/strong> football program defeated the University of North Texas Mean Green 50-30 in the New Orleans Bowl. This was a high scoring game with both teams combining for 80 total points. Troy University Trojans came out on top 50-30 in this offensive fueled college football game.

These two Football Championship Subdivision teams scored in every quarter. Troy University was actually only leading 22-20 at halftime. They outscored the mean green from University of North Texas 28-10 in the second half.

Troy University finishes their 2017 season with an 11-2 record. Meanwhile University of North Texas football team fell to 9-5 on the year. Turnovers played, pun intended, a crucial role in this game.

Troy University only had one turnover, throwing an interception. However, University of North Texas comitted five turnovers. They threw two interceptions and lost three fumbles.

Troy University Athletics football team outgained the University of North Texas 435 yards to 295 yards. Believe it or not North Texas University could not rush the football for positive yardage. They lost 8 yards on 25 total rushing attempts.

Their quarterback Mason Fine threw for 305 yards with 3 touchdowns to no avail. Historically, Troy University has defeated North Texas University 9 times with only 2 losses. These two college football teams played in the same Sun Belt Conference until University of North Texa left for Conference USA.

Coincidentally, Troy University quarterback Brandon Silvers also threw for 305 yards with 4 touchdowns. Troy University outgained University of North Texas 130 yards to minus 8 yards rushing. North Texas University never abandoned their woeful running game, with 25 total rushing attempts.

This New Orleans Bowl game was played at the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. I did not get a chance to watch any of this college football game. Normally, I only write sports recaps pertaining to athletic events I actually watch. However, I have decided to write recaps for all the bowl games this 2017 college football season.

North Carolina A and T University – VS Grambling Celebration Bowl

North Carolina A and T University Aggies defeated the Grambling State University Tigers 21-14 in the Celebration Bowl. This was the first bowl game played for the 2017 college football year. With this win North Carolina A&T University finished their season a perfect 12-0.

Grambling State University fell to 11-2. North Carolina A&T University and Grambling State University are both Football Championship Subdivision teams, formerly known as Divsion 1-AA. The Southwest Athletic Conference and Mid Eastern Athletic Conference best teams play each other for what is known as the black college football national championship.

This Celebration Bowl was played at Bercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta Georgia. Neither team could score in the first quarter. Both these teams scored a touchdown in the second quarter making it tied 7-7 at halftime.

North Carolina A and T University out scored Grambling State University 14-7 in the second half. Turnovers played a part in this Celebration Bowl. North Carolina A and T University threw two interceptions. Meanwhile Grambling State University committed one fumble and threw one interception.

North Carolina A and T University outgained Grambling State University 397 yards to 336 yards. This game was tied at 14 points a piece, until less than one minute remaining in this game. North Carolina A and T University scored their final touchdown with about forty seconds remaining to seal their victory.

I was not able to watch this game, as a computer repair technician. I try to write sports recaps after watching an athletic event. However, I plan on writing a sports recap pertaining to each and every bowl game, played in 2017.

Grambling State University ran out of time, pun intended, in this game and in their 2017 college football season. A last minute drive ended on North Carolina A and T University 45 yard line. I am glad this game was competitive until the end.

These two college football teams had won eleven straight games this season, heading into this 2017 Celebration Bowl.

** I do NOT consider this obviously corrupted college football national championship game as legitimate. If you study college football history, the alleged final national championship game has been corrupted even before the Bowl Crap Series. The current college football playoff system is a joke to me.

The University of Central Florida finished with a perfect regular season record, 12-0, and yet they were not only overlooked for the number one playoff seed but had to settle on a Peach Bowl bid. You could argue that college football has been corrupted since its inception. However, my solution is to list teams by win loss records.

The teams with the top 16 or even 32 records get to play. The current bowl games would be scrapped or used as playoff games. I never care about the current ranking system. I never cared about the ranking system thirty years ago.

It is NOT rocket science. You just select the top teams by their win loss records. The teams that could have played in a six team 2017 NCAA Division one playoffs should have been:

* University of Central Florida 12-0
* Clemson 12-1
* Oklahoma 12-1
* Wisconsin 12-1
* Georgia 12-1
* Alabama 11-1

Steelers Football Score – 31-28 Win Over Green Bay Packers

Steelers Football Score against the Green Bay Packers was 31-28 in their favor on Sunday Night Football. This was a very competitive and entertaining game. The Pittsburgh Steelers won this game with a field as time was running out.

I thought perhaps this game would go into overtime. However, Chris Boswell made a 53 yard field goal for the win. The Pittsburgh Steelers improve to 9-2. While the Green Bay Packers fall to 5-6.

The Green Bay Packers have been playing without Aaron Rodgers for the last six games. They have just won one game over that six game stretch. Their playoff chances are looking bleak at this point.

Ben Roethlisberger threw four touchdowns and two interceptions. His counter part Brett Huntley threw for three interceptions without any interceptions. The difference in this National Football League game, may have been total yards.

The Pittsburgh Steelers out gained on the ground the Green Bay Packers 121 yards to 80 yards. The Pittsburgh Steelers out gained the Green Bay Packers 341 yards to 245 yards through the air. Pittsburgh turned the ball over three times.

However, there two interceptions and one fumble did NOT cost them a victory. A missed point after attempt did NOT cost them this victory, as they made up for it by successfully making a second half two point conversion. Mason Crosby missed a 57 yard field goal wide to the left in the third quarter.

The Pittsburgh Steelers scored a touchdown on the ensuing possession. I’m not sure why the Green Bay Packers attempted such a long field goal, because since they missed, this gave the Pittsburgh Steelers a shorter field to work with. The Pittsburgh Steelers scored in every quarter in this football game.

The Green Bay Packers scored in three out of the four quarters. The Pittsburgh Steelers drove the ball down the field thirty seven yards with just seventeen seconds remaining in this game. This was enough for a last second fifty three yard field goal attempt, that was successful.

Auburn Score Today – 26-14 Win Over Alabama Crimson Tide

The Auburn Score today was 26-14 against the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. Alabama Crimson Tide’s 11 game winning streak comes to an end. The score of this game was 10-7 at halftime in Auburn Tigers favor.

Each team had one fumble and no interceptions. The Auburn Tigers scored in every quarter, while the Alabama Crimson Tide could only muster two touchdowns the entire game. The Auburn Tigers won this game by out passing the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Auburn gained 240 yards passing, while Alabama gained just 168 yards passing. Auburn was out gained 209 yards to 168 yards rushing. The Auburn Tigers could have won by a larger margin, if not for a late first quarter fumble on the Alabama Crimson Tide nine yard line.

Fortunately, for Auburn this did not affect the out come of this college football game. With this loss the Alabama Crimson Tide football team falls to 11-1. The Auburn Tigers play the Georgia Bulldogs next week in the Southeastern Conference title game.

This game potentially hampers their national title game asperations, as their are still two teams whom have yet to lose. The Auburn Tigers with their 10-2 record most likely will not get chosen to play for the national title. However, they played spoiler today and will most likely get chosen to play in a higher tier bowl game.

This is the second undefeated team that the Auburn Tigers have defeated on their home football field in the past three weeks. I watched three out of the four quarters of this game. I try to only write recaps of games I actually watch.

I tuned in when the score was 0-0 in the latter parts of the first quarter. Overall, this was a very competitive game. Alabama was guilty with twice as many penalties as Auburn, 8-4.

There were a couple of no calls or suspect referee decisions in this game. However, none in my opinion that caused a different outcome with regards to the final 26-14 score. The Auburn Tigers tried to convert a two point play in the fourth quarter, that failed.

This did NOT come back to haunt them as the Alabama Crimson Tide failed to score in the fourth quarter. The Alabama Crimson Tide football regular season is over with. We shall see what bowl game both teams get invited to.

Georgia Dome Stadium – Demolished After 25 Years

The Atlanta Falcons’ old Georgia Dome stadium was demolished yesterday. This 25 year old stadium was destroyed in a planned demolition. The Atlanta Falcons’ new stadium, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, was built right next to the old Georgia Dome.

This now demolished stadium was first used in 1992. That facility was the home of the National Football League Atlanta Falcons and Georgia State University Panthers. The Georgia Dome was owned and operated by the Georgia government.

The initial price tag was $214 million dollars. In 2007 this 80,000 seat domed stadium received $30 million dollars in renovations. Most of the funding for the initial $214 million dollars was by tax payers with 77 percent of all funding from public proceeds

Only 23 percent of the funding for the initial Georgia Dome construction was from private sector sources. Yesterday, this $244 million dollar venue when including renovations was destroyed in seconds. There was a petition that tried to stop the demolition of the Georgia Dome.

However, I think during the contract for the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, there was a clause wrote in that required the Georgia Dome become destroyed. The new stadium was built just 80 feet from the Georgia Dome. 25 Peach Bowl college football games were played in the Georgia Dome.

Two Super Bowls were hosted at the Georgia Dome, one in 1994 and the other in 2000. This planned demolition took just a total of 15 seconds to complete. Also, it will take at least 3 months for the debri piles to get cleaned up.

The concrete in this implosion is supposed to get recycled. The planned demolition of the Georgia Dome stadium was broadcast live. What a total waste of taxpayer dollars.

$214 million dollars blown apart in a mere fifteen seconds. I wonder how long the new Merceds-Benz stadium will last? The Atlanta Braves also recieved a shiny new stadium.

What was so bad about Turner Field? Turner Field only last 19 years as home of the Atlanta Braves. Although Turner Field will now be used as the home field for Georgia State University Panthers football.

Atlanta Falcons Record – 6-4 After 34-31 Win Over Seattle Seahawks

The Atlanta Falcons record is now 6-4 after their 34-31 win over the Seattle Seahawks. The Seattle Seahawks fall to 6-4 with this three point loss at home. What lost this game to me was the failed fake field goal before halftime.

The Seattle Seahawks had a fourth and one on the Atlanta Falcons seventeen yard line. Instead of kicking a short field goal for whatever reason, Seattle tried a fake field goal. The ball was hiked to their punter Jonathan Ryan.

He threw a short shuffle pass that lost four yards. I have no fucking idea why this play was called. Seattle Seahawks only had seven seconds left on the clock.

I think they had one time out left, but still trying to run another play with only seven seconds left is risky. Also, obviously not making the first down is risky. What is even more bizarre is that they had a very makeable field goal attempt.

This proved to haunt the Seattle Seahawks as this team ended up losing by three points 34-31. As a matter of fact Seattle Seahawks kicker Blair Walsh missed a 52 yard field goal with seven seconds left to tie this game at 34-34. Seattle would have been tied if they had kicked that field goal right before halftime.

Turnovers plagued Seattle Seahawks in the first half. Russell Wilson threw one interception and committed one fumble. The Atlanta Falcons took advantage of this and took a 14-0 lead early in this game. The Atlanta Falcons never relinquished the lead.

Both of these National Football League teams scored in each quarter. The Atlanta Falcons are in third place in a competitive National Football Conference south division. The Seattle Seahawks are in second place in the National Football Conference west division.

The Atlanta Falcons record as of now would afford them a wild card playoff spot while the Seattle Seahawks would be sitting at home wondering why on earth, their coach called for a fake field goal attempt perhaps. However, each team has six more games left.
